Ahead of the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas, Acer unveiled its Predator 21 X gaming laptop claimed to be the world’s first curved-screen laptop.

For the princely sum of $ 8,999 in the US and € 9,999 in Europe (which converts to around £ 8,550), the Predator 21 X has a 7th Gen Intel Core i7 processor, five fans. cooling and nine heat pipes, and a dual NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1080. GPU. It also includes Acer Dust Defender, which eliminates dust build-up and improves heat dissipation, and Acer’s CoolBoost app, which helps cool it down during particularly heavy use.

All of this is powered by 64GB of DDR4-2400 memory, up to four 512GB SSDs, and a 7,200RPM hard drive with a capacity of 1TB.

The 21-inch IPS display has a resolution of 2560 x 1080 with a refresh rate of 120 Hz and eye-tracking technology from Tobii. This allows players to spot enemies, aim, and take cover by looking at onscreen objects in some titles, including Dangerous elite, Deus Ex: Mankind Divided and Watch dogs 2.

This eye-tracking technology is also incorporated into Acer’s new Predator Z301CT 21: 9 curved monitor, which received CES 2017’s “Best of Innovations” award in the computer peripherals category.

During the conference, Acer said that the Predator 21 X features Killer DoubleShot Pro, which selects the fastest network connection and sends all priority traffic over it, while standard traffic is sent over the other. . This means that the games will always be played on the fastest link.

At the conference, Acer updated its Predator 17 X gaming laptop to include the same processors found in the Predator 21 X.

The Predator 21 X will be available in North America in February with prices starting at $ 8,999, but it won’t arrive in Europe until October. The Predator 17 X goes on sale this month with prices starting at $ 2,599 or € 2,999 in Europe.
