Of the Memorial Day laptop deals we’ve seen, Amazon’s current Surface Laptop Go deal is one of the best if you’re looking for a lightweight, high-performance Windows work laptop.
After starting at $899, the high-end Surface Laptop Go with 8GB of RAM and 256GB of storage is down to just $639 on Amazon (opens in a new tab), but only if you buy it in platinum. It’ll be $649 in Sandstone or $674 in Ice Blue, meaning your color choice might have to take a back seat if you want the best discount.
If you don’t need that much storage, the 128GB version in Ice Blue is $499 (was $699), with other colors unfortunately appearing to be sold out.
If you need an overview of the Laptop Go’s basic stats, it’s the lightest and cheapest way to own a Surface computer, with a 12.4-inch 3:2 touchscreen and overall weight only 2.44 lbs. It comes with an Intel Core i5-1035G1 processor, which isn’t super powerful but should meet the needs of the average user.
When we reviewed the Microsoft Surface Laptop Go when it launched, we really liked its premium design, the thin bezels around the screen and its excellent keyboard, as well as the fact that it has both one USB-A port and one USB-C port for easy connectivity. Battery life, heat and screen brightness let us down a bit, but the Laptop Go is still an attractive laptop that handles light to moderate work very well.
